About Me:

I have been a self-employed Arts Practitioner for over 20 years. During this time, I have devised and directed many successful projects and have worked for clients such as Theatre Royal Brighton, Tea Dance for Little People (London,) Brighton Photo Fringe and numerous schools/youth organisations in Sussex and beyond. My practice is informed by social inclusion, by pedagogies such as emergent curriculum and by engagement with materials. I love to design immersive workshops, combining trails through hidden spaces and installations with opportunities to make and create and I design these with care, aiming to ensure accessible opportunities for all participants.

Academic Qualifications:

1999: BA in Devised Performance, Bretton Hall College

2010: MA in Inclusive Arts Practice, Brighton University

2021: Post Graduate certificate in Early Education, Chichester University

Professional Development:

I have taken short courses in making Theatre for Young Audiences with both Oily Cart and Punchdrunk Enrichment at Rose Bruford College, and in theatre design at University of the Arts London. Through work I also have certificated training in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Children, Risk Assessment and more. Over the years I have trained in MAKATON, Positive Behaviour Support and working with people who have Autism Spectrum Conditions.

Atelierista:

I have been working as an Early Years Atelierista in Reggio Inspired nursery settings since 2019, qualifying as an Early Years Teacher in 2021. During this time I have worked with children aged 0-5, helping them investigate their big ideas through exploration of materials, creative process and critical thinking across the Early Years Foundation Stage.
